Zwölferkopf Startplatz 3

Zwölferkopf Startplatz 3 is an excellent site for extended soaring flights, launching from 1,458 m in southwest wind on the west side of the mountain station. When the valley wind hits the mountain in the late afternoon, the sky here fills with wings — a well-known local pattern worth timing your day around. The site also hosts safety training (SIV) launches. Landing at the Zwölferkopf Bergland field works very well in east wind, but pilots must stay strictly inside the mown area. One rule is enforced firmly here: illegal or unauthorized landings in the surrounding Achenkirch farmers' fields get reported, so know exactly where the approved landing area is before you commit to your approach.
