Hundwiler Höhi

Hundwiler Höhi is a paragliding site in Switzerland, launching well in southeast, south and southwest wind at around 1,297 m. There's no dedicated description of the takeoff on record, but the landing approach at Kronberg Landeplatz comes with specific guidance worth knowing before you fly here: the field itself is obstacle-free, but the approach isn't automatically simple, because a cable-car rope and a line of trees sit close to the valley station. In valley wind or northwest wind, fly a right-hand landing pattern; in mountain (katabatic) wind, fly left-hand instead. Since northwest wind is common at this site, pilots naturally end up flying close to the angle formed by the cable and the tree line on approach — so don't plan your landing point too near the valley station, and give yourself room to correct. Treat the approach with the same care you'd give any site with a rope hazard nearby, and confirm current conditions before committing to a landing pattern.
