Where it is
Flugplatz Beilrode is a German winch and flatland paragliding site at about 86 m, with an east-west wind window and a 600-metre grass strip, laid out for tow launches up to about 1,100 metres. It's officially a special landing site under German air law (§6 LuftVG), shared with motor-powered air sports craft rather than dedicated purely to paragliding and hang gliding, and flying here requires prior permission (PPR) — this isn't a turn-up-and-fly field. There's a restricted airspace area, ED-R 70, just north of the field that pilots need to stay clear of and be aware of when planning a flight path. Getting there is easy without a car: Beilrode train station sits right next to the field. Between the shared airfield status, the PPR requirement and the nearby restricted zone, this is a site to plan for rather than drop into casually.

Check conditions before you fly
A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Flugplatz Beilrode, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Flugplatz Beilrode with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
