Großgstatter Übungshang und Landeplatz

Großgstatter is a small training slope and landing field near Ruhpolding in the Bavarian Alps, set up for north to northeast wind. With a maximum height difference of just 26 m (landing on the neighboring parcel depending on conditions), it's genuinely a beginner practice hill rather than a site for real flights — short hops for building basic launch and landing skills. It also doubles as an independent landing field for flights coming down from the nearby Unternberg or Weingarten takeoffs, so it sees more air traffic than its small size suggests. Because of that mix, pilots practicing on the slope need to watch for people, cyclists and vehicles on the path toward the neighboring parcel during overflight, and also stay alert for other pilots landing at the same time.
