Where it is
Halver – Hohenplanken is a German winch and flatland paragliding site at about 410 m, with launches oriented southeast and northwest depending on the day's wind. There's a firm seasonal closure to plan around: the site may not be flown between 15 March and 30 May, so spring is off the table here. Hang-glider towing is also currently not available at this site, so paraglider pilots are the main traffic. Parking is restricted too — cars go on the Eickerhöh yard rather than on the grass meadows, with the tow vehicle and a first-aid vehicle the only exceptions allowed on the meadow itself. Outside the closed window, the dual southeast/northwest orientation gives a reasonable spread of usable wind days for a towing field.
