Where it is
This is a winch-tow site at Leese, on flat ground at about 33 m, set up for tows along a northwest–southeast line. Nearby nature reserves must not be overflown; if a reserve or its 500 m buffer zone can't be avoided, pilots need to stay at least 150 m above the ground over it. The site sits under Hannover's controlled airspace: Class D starts at 4,500 ft, and a transponder mandatory zone begins at FL65 immediately to the west, so every pilot flying here needs to know the local airspace structure before launching. Towing has to stop if a helicopter or other low-flying aircraft approaches. Basic hang-gliding training is not permitted at this site. Tow operations only run when the tow path is clear of obstacles and secured, and towing stops immediately if farm vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists approach the path.
