Where it is
Lindenberg is a members-only launch near Freiburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, at about 683 m, flying south wind. A thorough briefing on the site's specific requirements is required before anyone's first flight. The launch and landing fields have to stay as open meadow — no structures, paving, fencing or terrain reshaping are allowed — and vehicles can't be parked out in the open countryside; pilots are asked to walk up from the landing field on marked trails, use parking at the landing farmer's yard, and carpool where possible (a nearby church car park is off-limits). Protected habitat areas near the landing fields must be kept undisturbed, and safety distance from nearby power lines is mandatory throughout. Flying doesn't happen on a fixed list of religious holidays — Christmas, the Easter weekend, Whit Sunday and Monday, Corpus Christi, and two Marian feast days in July and August — and launches are held off whenever a pilgrim group is visible on the path below.

Check conditions before you fly
A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Lindenberg, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Lindenberg with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
