Mühlenberg NW – Startplatz

Mühlenberg NW is a west-facing launch above vineyards near Beutelsbach, at about 373 m, run by a small operating group that asks pilots to check in with a group member before flying if nobody from it is already on site. A day fee applies. Cars are not allowed on the vineyard tracks, and launches are only made in a clean headwind — never in crosswind or turbulent conditions — with enough clearance kept from the surrounding vines, farm tracks and people. From the upper launch site, pilots must overfly the vineyard road below at a safe height (at least 4 m) and keep the launch sector clear of people or farm vehicles during the actual launch; solid wing-handling and a securely mastered reverse-launch technique are expected. A second, unrelated launch sits close by to one side, run by a local flying school, so pilots at both sites must coordinate — parallel or simultaneous launches from the two are not allowed.
