Schulungshang Niederwinden (Dürrenberg)

Schulungshang Niederwinden (Dürrenberg) is a training slope in Germany near Freiburg, built for basic paragliding instruction, at around 450 m and flying in northwest wind. It's a small slope by design — about 50 m of height difference — which keeps consequences low while students are learning. Access is restricted: the slope may only be used by arrangement with a local Freiburg paragliding school, not as an independent launch for pilots outside that school's program. There are also environmental protections written into how the site may be used: the forest-edge vegetation bordering the slope must not be altered, and no earthworks are permitted on the grassland, which has to stay grassland rather than be leveled or reshaped for flying. Between the modest height difference, the school-only access and the environmental restrictions, this is a purpose-built training venue rather than a general-purpose launch.
