Skihang Hartenrod

Skihang Hartenrod is a German paragliding site at about 495 m, launching north, with landing at the dedicated Skihang Hartenrod Landeplatz — the name gives it away as a ski slope in winter that doubles as a flying site the rest of the year. A few rules come with sharing the hill: driving or parking off the public roads is prohibited under the local landscape-protection regulation for the Hessian Westerwald, so plan to leave the car on an approved road rather than driving up the slope itself. Because it's a ski hang, there are lift cables to keep well clear of during launch and flight. And the site's own rule for turbulent weather is blunt: stop flying when conditions turn rough rather than push through them.
