Weiherkopf

Weiherkopf is a German paragliding site at about 1,143 m, flying on a north-easterly wind, with launch through a narrow forest clearing. A guest briefing is required before flying here, and the landing field needs a visual check first — it's uneven, and only usable when the grass is kept short and no livestock are on the meadow. There's no vehicle access to launch: all gliding gear has to be carried on foot from the hiking car park at Kreuzweg. The area sits close to a lift, and the site rules ban overflying the Weiherkopf lift toward the south below 150 m above ground — fly higher than that if you need to cross the line. Because the surrounding landscape is protected, anything that would alter it — clearing trees, cutting hedges, filling or digging — needs sign-off from the local nature conservation authority first.
