Where it is

Harschbichl Startplatz 2 launches from the flank of the Kitzbüheler Horn in Tyrol, Austria, at around 1,580 m, a little south and above the mountain's cable-car station. It's a west-facing site, so it comes alive once the afternoon flow sets in from that direction — classic for this corner of the Kitzbühel Alps, where cable-car access puts pilots on launch without a long hike. The Kitzbüheler Horn is one of the region's best-known flying mountains, overlooking the town of Kitzbühel and its ski infrastructure, which doubles as summer paragliding access. Landing is well away from the mountain, down in Oberndorf, at a large field next to the campsite — plenty of room and an easy, obvious target from height. Between the lift-served launch and a generous valley landing, it's a straightforward day out: ride up, wait for a clean west cycle, and glide down toward Oberndorf.
