A public road, Am Köhlerhagen, crosses close enough to the flying area that two marshals are posted during operations: they can stop road traffic when needed, or hold back a student's launch until the road is clear. Fences and other obstacles that could interfere with flying are cleared from the area before sessions. Nearby hedgerows, tree lines and orchard trees are protected and must not be disturbed by flight activity, and the farm and forestry tracks crossing the terrain need to stay open for agricultural traffic.
