Ascheloh

Ascheloh is a training slope in the Teutoburg Forest in Germany, run by a local flying school and launching from 168 m with the hill facing southwest. It sits just below a separate, more advanced launch, Ascheloh Hermannsweg, further up the same forest ridge, so the two sites operate close enough together that flying at one affects the other. When the flying school is running training operations on the practice slope, pilots launching from Hermannsweg above need to actively coordinate with them rather than fly independently, since both sites share the same airspace right where students are learning. That makes Ascheloh less of a standalone hill and more of one half of a two-launch system stacked on the same ridge — worth knowing before assuming the sky here is uncontested. Wind from the southwest is what the practice slope is built for.
