Auf der Ecke

Auf der Ecke is a southwest-facing launch at 560 m, and it's explicitly not a site for A-licence training flights — pilots fly here already licensed. Every pilot gets briefed by the site operator on the terrain and its conditions before launching, with a particular emphasis on treading carefully: staying on paths through the woods and meadows, since unnecessary detours disturb both the vegetation and the wildlife that uses this ground, including several protected European species of birds, bats and other small animals that have to be considered before any flying starts. Launches happen only in a genuine headwind, with an abort line set by the site operator before the access path. Flying is restricted to daylight hours — starting two hours after sunrise and ending by sunset, or 20:00 at the very latest — and anything set up for launch, landing or flight safety, such as barriers, wind meters or warning signs, comes back down again by the end of that same flying day. The site also stays open to everyone else using the area: paths are never blocked for general recreation.
