Homberg Startplatz Südost

Homberg's southeast launch was newly approved in 2023 on ecologically sensitive ground, so both launching and landing here require a briefing from the local club first — the conditions attached to the approval are strict and meant to be followed to the letter. Tandem flights are covered by the same approval. Because the launch sits in a narrow forest corridor, wind vanes need to be set up to show conditions clearly, and side or tailwind starts are not allowed. Flying is limited to between 10:00 and 19:00 or dusk, whichever comes first — with an even earlier cutoff of 18:00 from April to September and 16:00 the rest of the year. The nearby Eder nature reserve, its wet meadows and the woodland strip beside the second landing field are mostly off-limits to overflight, and resting or migrating birds — lapwings and geese among them — must never be deliberately disturbed. Reach the launch on foot from the landing field; vehicles stay at the designated car parks.
