Bierbach Startplatz Nord – West

Bierbach Nord-West is a practice slope for paraglider and hang glider pilots at about 239 m, taking wind from west and northwest. Flying here only happens by prior arrangement with the site holder, though short-notice arrangements are welcome. The area is under species protection for a local little-owl population: the site holder has to arrange monitoring surveys each October–November and February–March and report the results to the nature protection authority, and if the surveys show the population declining further, flying stops immediately across both training areas here. This specific area, Bierbach West-Nordwest, is only open for flying from the start of September through the end of February each year, for species-protection reasons — outside that window, it's closed.
