Where it is
Blomberg's northeast and northwest launches are the counterparts to its east-facing one on the other side of the mountain, catching wind from north through northwest instead. The same demanding-terrain rules apply across all of Blomberg's corridors: no A-licence training flights, a mandatory briefing on the specific hazards of these forest gaps before a first flight, and correctly aligned wind indicators posted right at the launch because of how narrow the corridors are. A protected valley to the west, home to capercaillie and hazel grouse, stays off-limits to overflight below 400 m, so any low-altitude flight has to be planned to clear that zone before reaching the landing field. Tandem flights are ruled out entirely from the northeast launch; from the northwest one they're allowed only in turbulence-free conditions with at least 10 km/h of headwind and a pilot-set abort line. Cross-country runs out toward the Greiling gliding airfield are a real option from up here too, and the last launch of the day comes half an hour after the cable car stops.
Launch & conditions
Correctly aligned wind indicators are posted right at launch given how narrow these forest corridors are, and every pilot gets briefed on the specific hazards before a first flight.
Getting there & local rules
The last launch of the day comes half an hour after the cable car stops running, and A-licence training flights aren't run from here.
Local rules & hazards
A protected valley to the west, home to capercaillie and hazel grouse, is off-limits to overflight below 400 m — any low flight needs enough altitude to clear it before reaching the landing field. Tandem flights are ruled out entirely from the northeast launch; from the northwest one they need turbulence-free conditions and at least 10 km/h of headwind.
