Engerskamp

Engerskamp is a south-facing site at 140 m in Germany, flown specifically in exact south wind, when the slope of the Wiehengebirge range produces a genuinely useful lift band — off-axis south winds won't give you the same result here. Two protections shape where you can actually fly: a Natura 2000 conservation area with an eagle owl nesting zone must not be overflown within a 200 m radius of the nest, and the houses bordering the site to the west must not be overflown at low altitude. Both are real legal and ethical boundaries, not suggestions, so plan your flight path with them in mind before you launch rather than improvising once you're airborne. With only one workable wind direction and two no-go zones to route around, this is a site that rewards knowing the layout before you fly it for the first time.
