Ettigswald

Ettigswald is a winch-tow flatland site in Germany at 175 m, with launches facing southeast or northwest. It's a school site through and through: flying only happens on scheduled training days, and any use of the field has to be arranged with the flight school first — this isn't a site to show up at independently. Pilots need to keep a safe distance from the B28 road and the Weintalstraße that run nearby. In southwest wind, be aware of the lee turbulence coming off the ridge that sits upwind of the site. Several legally protected meadow biotopes lie within the tow area, and flying operations must stay clear of them — any significant disturbance or damage to these habitats has to be avoided.
