Where it is
Heufeld is a German winch and flatland paragliding site at about 843 m, set up at the former Heufeld gliding airfield, with a north-south wind window that gives options depending on the day. Two rules matter before you fly here for the first time. Guest pilots need a briefing from the site holder, or someone the site holder has delegated, covering the local flying conditions and this site's particular quirks — it's not somewhere to launch cold without that introduction. And pilots need to keep sufficient distance from the wooded slope edges around the field, because lee turbulence forms there and catches pilots who cut it too close. As a former airfield turned flatland site, expect the open, repeatable-flight character of a towing ground rather than a mountain descent.

Check conditions before you fly
A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Heufeld, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Heufeld with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
