Where it is

Hoher Bogen's north-facing Ahornriegel launch drops pilots 459 m down a narrow forest corridor, and the rules split sharply by which of its two launches you use. The east-facing one only opens once the ski lifts have stopped running for the day; the northwest-facing one can share the mountain with active skiing, as long as markings keep the launch clearly separated from the piste. Every pilot gets briefed on the corridor's obstacles — masts included — before flying, and launches only happen with a clean headwind or genuine calm; crosswind or tailwind attempts aren't allowed. Training flights don't run from the east launch at all, and even on the north one they're reserved for students who already have at least 25 height flights elsewhere and have reached an advanced stage, with an instructor on radio at both ends of the flight. It's a technical, corridor-style launch built for pilots who already read wind and terrain well.
