Kerzenberg

Kerzenberg is a winch-launch flatland site in Germany at 365 m, flown on east or west winds depending on the tow direction. Unlike a mountain launch, flying here means being towed up by winch over open, flat terrain — a different discipline that suits pilots who want cross-country-style flying without hill access. Two rules matter here: keep off the vegetation at the launch and landing areas, and stay clear of mapped biotope zones nearby between 1 April and 30 June each year (nesting season) — flying over them is allowed only when passing at least 150 m above the ground.
