Laasan / Kunitz

Laasan / Kunitz is a flying site in Thuringia, Germany, at around 320 m, working wind from the south, southwest or west. Access here is arranged rather than open: flying is only permitted in coordination with a local flight school, and there's a firm wildlife-driven time rule — no flying within roughly an hour of dawn or dusk, when animals are most active and most easily disturbed. The land itself is shared use: forestry and hunting activity continue around the site, nearby nature reserves have their own protections to respect, vehicles can't be driven onto the field, and parking is limited to designated areas rather than the surrounding farmland. Taken together, the rules describe a site that works because pilots treat it as someone else's working land first and a flying spot second.
