Limbach Aßberg

Just up the road from its sister site at Scheinde, Limbach Aßberg is the second of two linked hang- and winch-tow fields near Limbach, working in wind from north through northeast, east, south and southwest. The same conservation rules apply across both sites: a Natura 2000/FFH area within the flying zone is strictly closed to overflight, shown on the map that comes with the flying permit, and nothing gets cut or cleared to set up or run the winches. Parking sticks to existing roads and lots — the cemetery car park in Limbach is the go-to spot — with no parking out in the open fields. Because the ground here slopes, hang-glider tow suitability is limited, and any pilot training on this site first needs solid landing experience from elsewhere, plus a full landing briefing before towing student paragliders.
