Marktschellenberg's Kugelmühlweg training site is a school slope at 560 m in Germany, with launches facing east, southeast or south. Flying here only happens in coordination with the local flight school. Before their first flight, every student and pilot needs a briefing from the site manager specifically covering the landing area, including the obstacles and hazards nearby — a road and a stream among them. Training flights require radio equipment, and instruction has to stop the moment conditions turn thermic or windy; a lee situation is reason enough to call off training for the day.
