Röttberg / Hasloch Startplatz

Röttberg / Hasloch is a southwest-facing paragliding launch in Germany at 220 m — a hang-glider ramp used to exist here but it's gone now, so hang gliders can no longer launch from this site. Access on foot is limited: private cars can only drive as far as the barrier, leaving about a 400-meter walk to launch, though the club's shuttle bus can drive all the way up and must return past the barrier again once it has dropped pilots off. Tandem paraglider launches are only allowed when the headwind component is enough for a safe start. On landing, watch the wind direction closely: too much west component brings turbulence, and southwest wind (SSW) is the ideal direction. Never land in tall grass, and the gear pack-up area is next to the bike path.

Launch & conditions

Hang gliders can no longer launch here — the ramp no longer exists. Private cars can only reach the barrier (about 400 m on foot from there); the club's shuttle bus can drive all the way to launch.

Local rules & hazards

Tandem paraglider launches are only allowed when the headwind component is enough for a safe start. On landing, too much west in the wind brings turbulence — SSW is the optimal direction — and landing in tall grass is not allowed.
