Schleppgelände Sevelen

Schleppgelände Sevelen is a flatland winch-tow site on the left bank of the Lower Rhine, close to sea level and flyable in an east or west wind. Visiting pilots are welcome, and there's parking near the field. Because the site sits close to Weeze and Düsseldorf airports, every pilot flying here is expected to be briefed on the local airspace situation before towing starts, not just the general site rules. A farm track runs straight through the middle of the tow field, so it has to be secured — kept clear of cyclists and farm traffic — whenever flying is underway. Instruction flights only run in weather conditions genuinely suitable for students, rather than being pushed through in marginal conditions. It's a straightforward, guest-friendly flatland winch site, but one where checking the current airspace picture before you fly matters more than at a typical hill launch.
