Where it is
Schleppstrecke Südwest–Nordost is one of the winch-tow strips at a flatland site near Hamburg, working on south and southwest wind. Towing here crosses the farm track 'An der Schmiede', so pylons and warning signs reading 'Achtung Schleppseil' (caution: tow rope) go up on both sides of the rope whenever towing is active, and launches only happen once the strip is confirmed clear of cyclists, walkers or farm vehicles — a course marshal secures the rope if there's any doubt. Every pilot flying here needs a briefing on Hamburg's airspace structure: controlled airspace C sits above the site from 3,500 ft, and another C sector lies just west of the site starting at 2,500 ft MSL. Powered paramotors and non-motorized paragliders never launch or land here at the same time.
