Schulungsgelände Heuberger Kreuz

Heuberger Kreuz is a training area for paragliding students in Germany, sitting at just under 920 m with a takeoff open to northeast and east winds. Because it's used mainly for practice flights, it comes with rules built to protect the surrounding land rather than the pilots: flying here is only allowed outside the vegetation and nesting season, which in practice means the site operates from 1 October to 15 March each year, and if birds start nesting earlier than usual because of a mild winter, training stops immediately regardless of the calendar date. The number of pilots on-site at any time is capped at ten, which keeps the pattern manageable for students still learning ground handling and launch technique. Parking is limited to the verge alongside the K5905 road — driving onto the meadows themselves is reserved for genuine emergencies only, so plan to walk the last stretch with your gear.
