Skyline Flying Ranch Weidach

Skyline Flying Ranch Weidach is a winch-tow flatland site in Bavaria, Germany, at about 528 m, favorable with wind from the south, situated right at the operating company's own site. A federal road runs near the field, and pilots must keep a vertical distance of at least 150 m above ground and a horizontal distance of at least 50 m from it at all times. Launches are only permitted in wind up to about 15 km/h, and tow operations stop entirely as soon as the wind picks up a westerly component — this is a firm operating limit, not a rough guideline. A power line near the site requires a 100 m clearance. As a further safety measure, the tow operation uses a drogue parachute on the cable with a sink rate greater than 5 m/s, which helps the cable come down safely and predictably after release.
