Where it is
Wiesensteig / Bläsiberg is a north-facing launch on a ski slope above Wiesensteig in Germany, at around 590 m. Access is supervised rather than open: flying is only permitted with a flight director on-site and by prior arrangement with the local flying school that manages the hill, so this isn't a site to show up at solo and unannounced. There are two usable launch points on the slope — the left-hand side offers about 60 m of vertical, the right-hand side around 110 m — giving a choice depending on conditions and how much height you want for the flight. To find it, head from Gruibingen toward Wiesensteig, turn right at the village entrance, and follow the valley road up to the ski lifts, where the launches sit right on the piste. Being a managed ski-slope site rather than a free-access hill, Wiesensteig rewards pilots who build a relationship with the school running it — that's the route to a flying slot here, not turning up and hoping.
