Koralpe Startplatz 2

Koralpe Startplatz 2 is the highest of the Koralpe's several launches above Austria's Lavanttal, at 1,906 m within the ski area, above the lower Goding start. This one works in southwest wind specifically. As with the other higher Koralpe launches, getting into thermals from this altitude is usually straightforward. Landing is either at the newer field in Eitweg or the Wolfsberg landing field — the large meadow opposite the football stadium in Wolfsberg-Gries. Pilots can reach the launch by club bus in summer rather than driving up. Fixed launch time windows are strictly enforced here, so check and follow them before planning your flight.
