Venet Startplatz 4

Venet Startplatz 4 is another launch option on the Krahberg/Venet, one of the region's best thermal mountains and a strong starting point for cross-country flights across the Tyrolean Oberland. This particular takeoff sits right next to the top station of the chairlift and faces northwest — note that from around midday it's partly affected by the valley wind, so morning conditions tend to be cleaner here than later in the day. Landing is at the southwestern edge of Zams, and it's worth taking seriously: the valley wind can blow very strongly at the landing site, so plan your approach with margin rather than expecting the same calm air you had at launch.
