Wechtisch

Wechtisch is a paragliding site in Austria's South Styrian wine country, and it's explicitly suited to beginners as well as more experienced pilots. The launch is a simple meadow takeoff reachable by car, sitting just before the 'Kapla' border crossing at around 704 m, and flies in north, northeast or northwest wind. Nothing about the approach requires technical driving or a hike, which is part of why it works well for pilots still building confidence. Landing is at a meadow by Sternhof, right next to the access road that leads up to the launch — an easy, low-stress pattern to plan since the field sits close to where you started. Between the drive-up launch and the straightforward landing next to the access road, Wechtisch is a good pick for an easier day or for someone flying a new site solo for the first time, while still offering real flying in the South Styrian hills.
