Allmend/Büchelberg

Allmend/Büchelberg is a winch-launch flatland site in Germany at 455 m, flyable in southeast and northwest wind. Three plots of land near the site, along with their adjoining forest edges, are a protected conservation area and must never be overflown. Flights heading west need enough altitude in hand to safely reach the ridge lift rather than pushing out low. The site closes completely from 1 March to 15 June each year, and even outside that window it's limited to a maximum of 30 flying days per year — so this is a site with real access constraints rather than an everyday option. The operating club also has to keep a logbook of every flight (date, number of flights, hours of operation) and make it available to the German Hang Gliding Federation (DHV) and the nature conservation authority on request, so conditions here are actively monitored.
