Feldberg – Skischanze Startplatz

Feldberg – Skischanze Startplatz is a paragliding site in Germany at 1,250 m, launching on north wind, with landings at the separate Feldberg-Fahl field. The usable launch zone is tightly defined — west of the old ski jump, no more than 100 m above the path and within 50 m of the forest edge — and pilots reach it on foot, directly off the path, to avoid damaging the protected vegetation around it. Because the launch sits in forest corridors, gusty or turbulent conditions rule out flying, and the nearby 'Wiesenquelle' launch area closes entirely once wind passes 10 km/h. First-time pilots need a briefing from the site holder and should walk the landing field before their first flight — trees around the landing area bring their own turbulence risk, which the site holder will point out. The B 317 road runs past the landing field and must be crossed at least 50 m above the ground.
