Where it is
Golan Höhe – Denklingen is a small soaring ridge at 730 m near Denklingen, Bavaria, flown strictly on east wind between 10 and 30 km/h — outside that narrow window, flying isn't permitted at all, specifically to keep pilots off a protected biotope on the slope. It's a genuinely demanding site: on thermic days or in strong wind the ridge turns dangerous, and access is restricted to very experienced pilots or B-license holders who've had a proper briefing and paid the site's usage fee. There's no driving in either — reaching launch means a roughly 1,500 m walk, with the only permitted ascent route along the forest edge on the south side, since the slope itself is a protected biotope that can't be entered except in a genuine flight emergency. Usage is capped hard: a maximum of ten people on just twenty flying days a year, and training flights aren't allowed under any circumstances. The landing field sits right next to a solar farm to the west, so keeping a safe distance from those panels matters on every approach.
