Hallgarten Startplatz 2, Toplandeplatz

Hallgarten Startplatz 2, also used as a top-landing spot, sits a little higher than the main Hallgarten launch at around 295 m, facing south in the Rheingau. It only comes into play when there's enough lift to guarantee reaching the main landing safely — otherwise pilots stick to Startplatz 1 instead. Guest pilots can fly here too, after the same briefing and usage permission from the site operator that covers the whole area. Species-protection rules apply across the site, and the launch area needs mowing and preparing before each season starts. This particular launch's immediate area has to stay clear of parked cars, and a nearby farm track gets marked to flag flight activity while pilots are using it. As with the rest of the Hallgarten site, minimum safety heights over buildings, roads and power lines apply throughout every flight, and if lift doesn't show up after launching, the plan is to leave in good time, with enough height to reach the landing. Tandem flights aren't permitted here.
