Where it is

Niederlibbach is the training slope for a local flying club in the Taunus hills near Taunusstein, working best on northeast wind with a modest 50 m of height to play with. Visiting pilots are welcome once they've had the site briefing, which covers everything from a nearby road to the wildlife rules. Flying only happens between 8 a.m. and half an hour after sunset (no later than 8 p.m. in summer), stays 50 m clear of the L3570 road below, and pauses immediately if farm vehicles, walkers or cyclists appear on the field path underneath. The hill stays capped at 15 pilots at once, and if any protected bird species is found nesting nearby, flying stops until the chicks have fledged. Access to launch is on foot only, and cars park without blocking the farm traffic that still uses the area. It's a quiet, community-run hill built for steady practice rather than big air.
