Where it is
Kaitersberg launches from 1,044 m in Germany, a cliff launch flyable in south wind that absolutely requires a launch assistant and a proper briefing before you go — this is not a casual foot-launch site. Reach launch on foot, with about an hour's walk from the parking area. Access to the whole flying area is restricted to the north side only, via Hohenwarth and the Hudlach hiking parking lot, because the ground to the south of launch has been designated a lynx protection area by the local nature conservation authority, with a strict no-entry rule inside it. Sticking to that access route matters beyond just following the rules — it's what keeps the local flying club in good standing with both the authorities and the regional forestry association, so treat it as non-negotiable rather than a suggestion.

Check conditions before you fly
A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Kaitersberg, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Kaitersberg with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
