Kreuzberg Südost

Kreuzberg Südost is a demanding launch cut through the forest in Germany's Rhön mountains, at 882 m, and it's rated for experienced pilots only. It only works when the wind comes in cleanly from the southeast, since the run-up over the natural ramp is short and leaves little margin for error. Every pilot needs a briefing from the site manager before flying, and launches are only permitted when the weather conditions clearly allow a safe glide to the landing field — this isn't a site to launch on a marginal call. The landing meadow itself slopes downhill and isn't an easy field to land on, which is part of why the site is considered less suitable for hang-glider pilots specifically.
