Löhmberg

Löhmberg is a flat-land winch-tow site in Germany, launching from 348 m with the field built around a fairly specific set of operating restrictions rather than open, general-purpose flying. Towing here only runs toward the south, which fixes the usable direction regardless of what the wind is doing on a given day, and pilots need to keep well clear of the weekend houses in the western part of the terrain — overflying them isn't permitted under any circumstance. The site is also not set up for training: neither ridge nor winch-tow instruction is allowed here, so it's a place for already-current pilots rather than somewhere to learn to tow. Tandem flights, step-towing and hang-glider operations are likewise off the table, which keeps the field's traffic mix deliberately narrow — solo paraglider tows, tow direction fixed south, and nothing else. Wind from the southwest is what the field's tow line is set up for.

Local rules & hazards

Towing runs south only. The weekend houses in the western part of the terrain must never be overflown. Training flights, tandem flights, step-towing and hang-glider operations are all prohibited here.
