Where it is
Nieder-Liebersbach is a training slope (Übungshang) in the Rhine-Main-Neckar region of western Germany, with about 50 meters of height difference between launch and landing — a compact site built for supervised early flying rather than long soaring days. The launch faces southwest, so it comes alive on southwesterly airflow. Access runs through a working flying school: solo flying without an instructor or school supervisor present is not permitted here, which keeps the hill firmly in training-site territory even for visiting pilots. Parking is restricted to the Nieder-Liebersbach sports field — there is nowhere else nearby to leave a car. Flying is seasonal, allowed from March through November, and only during daylight, starting two hours after sunrise and ending two hours before sunset (never later than 19:00). Guest pilots from other regions and schools are welcome, but only once their visit is arranged with the local school beforehand.
Launch & conditions
Southwest-facing training slope with roughly 50 m of height gain — short and forgiving compared with a full-size hill, and built for supervised early flights rather than solo soaring.
Getting there & local rules
Park only at the Nieder-Liebersbach sports field; there's no other parking near the hill. Visiting pilots must arrange their flight with the local flying school in advance — solo flying without an instructor present isn't permitted.
Local rules & hazards
Flying is seasonal here: permitted March through November, and only in daylight — from two hours after sunrise until two hours before sunset, and never later than 19:00. The site operates under a resident flying school, so unsupervised solo flights aren't allowed.
