Rivenich

Rivenich is a paragliding site in Germany's Moselle region, launching from 280 m with the hill facing west. The site's flight rules are built around a seasonal landing closure: between March 1 and August 30, landing field 2 in the Salmaue is off-limits entirely, so pilots need to know which landing option is actually available before committing to an approach at that time of year. There's also a specific overflight rule for reaching that same landing field outside the closed season: a minimum horizontal and vertical distance of 50 m has to be kept from the road on the way in. Together, the two rules mean a pilot's landing plan at Rivenich genuinely depends on the calendar, not just on which field looks best from the air. The main Rivenich landing field remains the reliable default target year-round, regardless of the seasonal restriction on the second field.
