Römershagen

Römershagen is a flatland winch-tow site in Germany open to northeast or southwest tow lines, at 470 m. Like many German winch sites near woodland, it carries a seasonal red kite protection rule: towing is banned on the designated areas from 15 February to 15 July each year while the birds nest. A minimum 50 m horizontal and vertical clearance from the nearby road is required at all times, keeping tow operations well clear of traffic. Procedurally, the site also requires the responsible start leader to notify the local flight control team both before starting and after finishing operations for the day — a coordination step that keeps everyone using the field aware of who's currently towing.
