Where it is
Rosenberg / Oberacker is a winch-tow site near Kraichtal in southwestern Germany, sitting at about 220 m and serving as the home ground for the local paragliding club. Winds work best from the northeast or southwest, and the flat field is set up for pulley winching rather than ridge or hill soaring, so climbing away depends entirely on the tow rather than terrain. Flying normally happens on Sundays and public holidays from around 1 p.m., when club members are out and the winch is running; weekday sessions are the exception rather than the rule. Hang-glider tows are available but need to be arranged in advance, and tandem flights can also be booked ahead of time. Once released from tow, the open terrain is good for cross-country attempts. Parking directly at the site is very limited, so plan to arrive early, especially on a busy flying Sunday.
Getting there & local rules
Parking right at the site is very limited — arrive early, particularly on Sundays and holidays when towing operates.
