Where it is
Stöckerkopfwiese is a training slope with a nice view over Baiersbronn, at about 655 m facing north to northwest. Basic paraglider training runs on the designated training meadows here — hang glider training isn't permitted on this specific ground. Landing can be turbulent at times, and there's a cable car and trees around the landing area to watch for; use the large car park about 150 m before the landing zone rather than trying to park closer. Pack up your wing at the meadow edge below the road, near the pizzeria — the landing area itself sits to the right of the cross path there. In the air, keep a lateral distance of 50 m from the path bordering the training area to the north, and 20 m from the tall forest and the power line at the western end of the site. On the landing approach, keep the legally required distance from the nearby road. If turbulence builds in the launch gap, flying stops for the day. A day-membership option is available if you ask club members.
