Weiler

Weiler is a launch at 265 m in Germany with southwest and west-facing takeoffs, and a briefing is required before flying here for the first time. The defining hazard at this site is a high-voltage power line running just north of the launch area: pilots may only start when the wind at the launch doesn't exceed 20 km/h, and need to stay alert for wind speed picking up sharply right at the edge of the launch terrain. A minimum 50 m clearance from the centerline of the 110 kV overhead line is required at all times, and the line itself must never be overflown. Pilots are also asked to protect the vegetation on both the launch and landing areas rather than trampling it.
