Humberg

Humberg is a northwest-facing launch above Odernheim in Rhineland-Palatinate, and it comes with a firm entry requirement: only pilots holding a full, unrestricted pilot license may fly here — this isn't a site for students or restricted-license holders. Visiting pilots also need to be accompanied by a club member; it's not an open site to show up at solo. Top-landings back at the launch are possible when flight activity is light, which is a nice option on quieter days. Two safety points matter on every flight: keep as much distance as possible between yourself and the terrain, particularly important during the bird breeding season from 1 April to 31 July, when disturbing local birdlife has to be avoided entirely; and the power line crossing the flight path to the landing field needs a generous safety margin on the way in. Tandem flights aren't permitted here at all.
